Kings Cross has had a reputation for night-time entertainment and dining and was known as having a seedy, edgy underworld. The 50-50 club was Sydney’s best known illegal casino, sly- grog nightclub and cocaine den. The club was a hangout for high and low life, for patrons, singers, dancers, prostitutes and henchmen and women.
